Christian Nold -- "Mobile Vulgus"


Bio:

Christian Nold studied Fine Art at Kingston University and during this time exhibited in Beyond Technology at the Lux Centre and Breaks and Pieces at the Stanley Picker Gallery. After graduating he worked commercially as an Interaction Designer for Lowe Broadway producing websites and interactive CDROMs. He was subsequently commissioned to write an artists book for Book Works as part of the Open House project. The resulting Mobile Vulgus project included performances and sound pieces which were shown at the Arnolfini Gallery, Book Works and Catalyst Arts. Since this time the book has been reviewed and extracts published in a wide range of publications: Art Monthly, Sleazenation, Tank, Flux, Mute, Do or Die, Saturday and Janus. At this time Christian started collaborating with Duncan Whitley on the FuelAir project which has been shown at Dorkbot and the Cubitt Gallery in London. Christian is currently studying at the Royal College of Art, on the Interaction Design MA course. At the RCA he produced the Community Edit software which was presented at Yale and New York University as well as at the Sample Image Conference in Rome and next January at the ZKM in Karlsruhe. Christian's recent Crowd Compiler project was shown at Dorkbot in London and at the Neuro Conference in Munich.
