  • affrontare gli ultimi sviluppi e le tendenze future delle tecnologie cross-mediali e le loro applicazioni, il loro impatto ed utilizzo

Origine e storia:

La conferenza internazionale AXMEDIS è stata istituita nel 2005 dal Progetto AXMEDIS con il sostegno di ACIT - Advance Concepts for Interactive Technology GMBH (Germany) e la collaborazione del Ciclo di Conferenze Internazionale WEDELMUSIC e l'Associazione Internazionale MUSICNETWORK.

Il ciclo di conferenze annuali si concentra sulla ricerca, gli sviluppi e le applicazioni nel campo dei cross-media. Axmedis nasce infatti dalla consapevolezza che gli attuali sviluppi del settore necessitano di tecnologie nuove ed innovative per affrontare le sfide del mercato.
Il consorzio che ha promosso il progetto è composto da AXMEDIS - principali produttori europei di contenuti digitali - affiliati, distributori, e aziende che operano nell'ambito delle tecnologie d'informazione e da gruppi di ricerca coinvolti nella produzione di contenuti, nella protezione e distribuzione di contenuti tramite canali diversi, tra cui la TV interattiva (i-TV), DVBT, DVBS, il personal computer, i cellulari ed altri.

L'evento, fin dalla sua prima edizione a Firenze nel 2005, si è proposto di promuovere la discussione e la collaborazione tra ricercatori, operatori, sviluppatori ed esperti di tecnologie e project manager.
AXMEDIS 2005 ha riunito partecipanti provenienti dal mondo accademico, commerciale e industriale, ed ha affrontato diverse questioni, sia tecniche che commerciali.
Alcune tra le materie ed argomenti connessi alla produzione di contenuti cross-mediali e digital-mediali che la Conferenza Internazionale AXMEDIS coinvolge sono: la produzione, la protezione, la gestione, la rappresentazione multimediale, i formati, la codifica, i flussi di lavoro, la distribuzione, i modelli di business e di transazione e l'integrazione dei sistemi di gestione dei contenuti con le catene di distribuzione, con particolare enfasi sulla riduzione dei costi e sulle soluzioni dei problemi.

Gli eventi AXMEDIS hanno offerto quindi momenti di scambio di concetti, proposte, prototipi, idee di ricerca, mirando soprattutto ad ottenere dei risultati che possano non solo contribuire alla ricerca scientifica, ma anche favorire le comunità commerciali e industriali.
